2011 Gold Ribbon Award Winner

Congratulations to Rachel A. Miller, BSN, RN, IBCLC the 2011 Sharon Spriggs Gold Ribbon Award Winner.

Rachel was nominated by Leslie Myers who writes:

I would like to nominate Rachel Miller for her outstanding work and leadership for breastfeeding issues in South Carolina. Rachel defines the mission of our coalition- promoting, protecting, and supporting breastfeeding both in our state and nationally. She is a valued lactation consultant at Piedmont Medical Center where she is instrumental in ensuring infants receive the best start in life. One of the things that has impressed me most about Rachel is her dedication to our Coalition. Rachel works tirelessly on the steering committee of the South Carolina Breastfeeding Coalition and has served as treasurer for countless years. Her role in our leadership is critical to the functioning and success of our coalition.  She follows breastfeeding issues worldwide and is key in communications throughout our state to keep our members current on the issues. The first time I attended a Coalition meeting, it was Rachel that greeted and welcomed me. As former chair of the coalition, Rachel was one of the rocks that supported me in my leadership and she was always willing to help with any project or task. It is with great admiration for Rachel that I nominate her as 2011 Sharon Spriggs Gold Ribbon Award Recipient.
